// customer API
Connect your tools to LineHQ
Use the customer REST API to read your business call data and automate supported workflows. Access stays within the LineHQ account attached to your token; it is not access to other customers or platform administration.
// the short answer
LineHQ’s customer API uses bearer tokens created by an account owner or an authorised team member. Read calls, numbers and balance data, and use permitted write operations for supported routing, caller-ID, messaging and support workflows. Token abilities, user permissions and plan entitlements apply together. The full endpoint reference is available after sign-in.

Read business call data
Retrieve account-scoped calls, numbers and billing information. Existing transcripts and AI summaries can accompany call data; a read does not itself start transcription.
Permissioned actions
Supported write operations require the appropriate token abilities and account permissions. Metered transcription or message sending remains chargeable when triggered through the API.
Revocable credentials
Create a token in API tokens and keep it on a trusted server or client. Use only the abilities needed and revoke a token when the integration is no longer used.
Documented limits
The general authenticated customer API limit is 60 requests per minute; individual operations can have tighter limits. Handle HTTP 429 responses and follow the endpoint reference.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I get the full API reference?
Sign in and open API reference. Owners and members granted API-management access can view the reference and manage tokens. This public overview does not grant access or expose account credentials.
Does the API bypass package restrictions?
No. Account entitlements, role permissions and token abilities still apply. An API token cannot enable an unavailable plan feature or bypass a spending or identity check.
Does reading a transcript create a charge?
Reading an existing transcript is different from requesting a new transcription. Starting transcription is a permissioned, metered action using the same allowance, bundle and calling-credit rules as the dashboard.
Is this the same as CRM Sync?
No. CRM Sync is the managed paid connector for supported CRM services. The customer API is for integrations you or your developer build and maintain.
